Is this a haunted house or a corn maze?

Scream Acres is a three-part haunted attraction consisting of two indoor venues and one outdoor venue. Curtain Chaos and The Slaughterhouse are indoors and the Haunted Cornfield is outdoors. The Haunted Cornfield is NOT a maze; you cannot get lost. It is a twisting, turning path through the corn.

What are the hours of operation?

For 2012, Scream Acres will be open October 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, & 27. Tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Booth from 6pm to 11pm on these nights. The Haunt opens at 7pm and runs until the line is empty, typically by 12am. Tickets can also be purchased online by clicking here.

How long does it take to go through the Haunt?

It depends. You buy your ticket and then wait to enter the Haunt. Once you enter, you proceed at your own pace. Some people stroll, some people sprint (please avoid running, though). Standard groups finish the 3 attractions in 25-40 minutes. Of course, peak times have longer waits. We will provide line entertainment as well as food and drink concession options.

Can I make a reservation?

Reservations will only be taken for groups of 20 or more. The only advantage to making a reservation is to avoid the ticket line. For more information, contact Karen -- Karen@BloomsburyFarm.com, or 319-446-7667.

What are the prices for the Haunt?

$18 per person, per trip. This includes one trip through all 3 attractions (Curtain Chaos, The Slaughterhouse, and the Haunted Cornfield).

Are group rates available?

Yes. Groups of 30 or more will receive a $1.50 discount off each admission. Please arrange this ahead of time by contacting Karen -- Karen@BloomsburyFarm.com or 319-446-7667.

Are there discounts or coupons?

No, we currently do not offer any coupons for Scream Acres.

What is the age limit? Can I bring my children?

Scream Acres is recommended for people 12 years old and up. We are not parents! If you want your children to witness gore, blood, mutations, and frightening loud noises, then we will not stop you. Everyone entering the Haunt will be charged $18 and there are absolutely NO REFUNDS.

Will this be dark?

Yes, there are dark areas in Scream Acres. We do not recommend this attraction if you are afraid of the dark or have disabilities that require full daylight.

What will the paths be like?

Since the Haunted Cornfield is an outdoor haunt, the uneven paths will contain mud, dirt, moisture, and debris from the cornstalks. The paths will be three feet wide with ten-foot cornstalks on each side. Because it is October, it will most likely be cold. Please dress appropriately. Flip flops and high-heeled shoes are NOT receommended.

Is the Haunt wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, due to the fact that this is partially an outdoor haunt and consists of narrow, uneven, and often muddy paths, the Haunt is not wheelchair accessible. The pathways in both indoor venues are also very narrow and have tight turns, that are not wheelchair-friendly.

Can I wear Halloween costumes or masks?

Sure! But we ask that you please leave the scaring up to our actors.

What if it rains?

Daytime rain will not close Scream Acres, it just adds a bit of mud to the Haunted Cornfield. If it is raining on a Haunt night and we determine that the cornfield is unsafe for customers, the two indoor attractions will still be OPEN. Curtain Chaos and The Slaughterhouse will remain OPEN no matter the weather conditions.

How many times can I go through with a ticket?

Once. Each ticket is good for ONE trip through each of the three venues - one trip through Curtain Chaos, one trip through The Slaughterhouse, and one trip through the Haunted Cornfield.

Will there be security?

Yes. The Event Staff works closely with the Benton County Sherriff's Department each night to provide security.

What are the rules?

Do not touch the actors, the actors will try not to touch you. No running, fighting, destruction to property, or cutting in line. Also prohibited are smoking, alcohol, drinking in the Haunt, pets, and weapons. For everyone's safety and enjoyment, violators will be warned and then asked to leave.

Are there refunds?

No. If you didn't like it, your kid was too scared, you felt sick, you were scared, the wait was too long, you saw your ex, of if you peed your pants, these are great excuses, but there will be NO REFUNDS under any circumstanses.

Can we take flash photos or record video in the Haunt?

No, not in the Haunt. Using flash devices will not only ruin other customers' experiences, but will also hurt the actors' eyes. Since this is partially outdoors (mud, moisture, and fog) we cannot be held responsible for loss, theft, damage, or longevity of your devices. Monsters outside the Haunt will often pose for pictures though! These types of pictures are great -- post them to our Facebook page if you'd like!

Will I be scared?

Only you can answer this.. it's always best to bring squealing friends to laugh at. Don't get scared? Might as well laugh! We will try our hardest to make you jump, laugh, and scream, but we cannot guarantee satisfaction. Sorry, NO REFUNDS!
